Philosophy and Approach

I approach my counseling as a collaboration with clients while also providing a space that feels safe and comfortable. I strive to offer support and hope to individuals and their families, so they are able to approach challenging situations in a safe and productive manner. I hope to assist these individuals with gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges they are given and provide them with the tools to change their approach and outlook. While my interventions and therapeutic techniques may vary from individuals and their specific needs, I will operate under the theories of counseling as follows, Solutions Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems Theory.

Education and Experience

I hold a Master of Science in Professional Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Most of my course work centered around Human and Family Development, Marriage and Family Counseling, Substance Use Dependency Counseling, Cross Cultural Counseling, Aging, and Group Counseling. I am also a Registered Alcohol and Drug Counselor who is still working on certification.
