Therapist
Philosophy and Approach
I believe that each individual should feel comfortable within themselves and have the resources to change if something in their life is not being met emotionally, mentally, or physically. My priority within this context is to ensure and create a safe space for individuals to explore their emotions and process their thoughts. While being initially drawn to Existentialism therapy, I utilize an integrative model to best meet client’s needs. Trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, expressive art therapies, strength-based, person-centered approaches and CBT techniques are what I utilize most frequently in the therapeutic setting. I have been working in the mental health and addictions field for over a decade which includes various settings such as psychiatric hospitals, dual-diagnosis units, residential treatment, and outpatient treatment. I specialize in both group therapy and individual therapy.
Education and Experience
In the state of Oregon, I hold my LPC (licensed professional counselor), CADC-I (certified alcohol and drug counselor) and NCC (national certified counselor).
Supervisor for LPC Associates
I currently hold my LPC, MAC, NCC, and CADC-I. I specialize in dual diagnosis clients particularly adults. Areas of practice include addiction counseling, co-occurring diagnosis, life transitions, anxiety/depression, trauma-informed care, grief, shame & self-compassion, and suicidal ideation. I have completed a 30 hour supervision course through Lewis & Clark College and continue to gain knowledge on this topic through ongoing continuing education credits. I have experience supervising graduate students who are completing their degrees in which I have done both roles of primary and secondary supervision.
