Philosophy and Approach

“People make sense,” is one of the truest psychological expressions you will find. Issues in life may be complex and frustrating, but with compassion, exploration, and healing, you will find that growth and true joy is very possible. Many times our struggles have their origins in trauma, pain, grief, shame, and even anger. Moving away from symptom management might be the most important step in getting your life back.

I will help you understand many of the nuanced mental health aspects of your life better. We can explore trauma, addictions, compulsive behaviors, shame, and any other mental health struggles that are limiting your life. You might be surprised just how centrally linked these are.

Education and Experience

I have worked in the mental health field for over 25 years in several capacities. From hospitals, treatment centers, community MH, universities, teaching/supervisory capacities, and I have encountered the same themes emerging over and over again. I thoroughly enjoy working with people and exploring what might be some of their barriers to peace and joy. I received my Doctorate in Psychology from George Fox University. Modalities I draw from include: Internal Family Systems, ACT, MI, and several different theories of trauma.
