Philosophy and Approach

I believe that you are the expert of your own experience. I want to create a space where you feel safe, cared for, respected, and welcomed to explore deeper layers of your unique experience. My approach is strongly influenced by Emotionally Focused Attachment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Bowenian Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Somatic Therapy.

Additionally, my approach centers on a multicultural and social justice orientation—meaning our conversations will naturally include your cultural identities and social locations, as well as the broader contexts of your lived experience. I value Narrative Therapy for its emphasis on separating people from their problems and making space for the stories of strength, resistance, and resilience that are often overlooked.

My work is also grounded in the Seeking Safety model, an evidence-based approach to treating trauma and addiction that emphasizes present-focused coping skills and building safety as the foundation for healing. I have experience working with children and parents in strained relationships, as well as children of immigrant parents, helping them navigate intergenerational dynamics, identity formation, and cultural expectations.

I do not practice with a religious or spiritual framework, but I welcome clients of all beliefs and backgrounds.

Through our collaboration, we will explore your concerns and identify meaningful changes while honoring your strengths and resilience.

Education and Experience

I hold a Master of Arts in Professional Mental Health Counseling—Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy—with a specialization in Addictions from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling.
